Fair Play Dalmatians

The Family

Shelby

As mentioned before, Shelby is my first Dalmatian.  I adopted him from the Bitterroot Humane Society in Hamilton, Montana.  Shortly after adopting him, I volunteered with the Bitterroot Humane Society at public adoption clinics and fostered dogs as well while they were full.  Shelby was turned in by his owner claiming he was "out of control".  I have never had a moment with him where he was "out of control".  He has been the MOST obedient, sweet, outgoing, hilarious, "Glad to know ya" dog I've owned thus far.  He will do anything for me, especially make me laugh.  He's likes to greet us with a smile, and get our spirits up with his, "Roo roooo!"  A great example of the best things about the breed.  He inspired me to be more and better than I am.

Clayton

A year after I adopted Shelby, I wanted to adopt another Dal in need, so began searching. There were no Dalmatians in need in Montana at that time, so I contacted Rocky Spot Rescue in Oklahoma.  They put me in touch with the Idaho Humane Society in Boise.  Clayton was a stray that had been caught and brought in.  He was literally on his last day when I called in and adopted him.  We all worked together to help this wonderful life have a second chance, and he is worth every bit of it.  Clayton is very laid back and mellow.  He loves making new friends, and enjoys napping in the sunlight.

On January 12, 2008, Clayton went to rest.  I love you old man, may you find lots of patches of sunlight to lay in.  Good bye good friend, thank you for all the inspiration, love and companionship.

Jewel

After Clayton entered my life, I still felt there was more I wanted to do. I decided I wanted to show dogs.  So I began searching for the right dog, and found Jewel 2 years later.  She came from Andals Dalmatians in Nova Scotia, Canada.  Angela Vidito, the breeder, was very helpful and encouraging.  I am so thankful to her for everything.  Once Jewel entered our lives I began pursuing my dream of showing her.  Today, we are still learning together and training towards her AKC Championship.

Me and the Dogs

Hope you enjoyed meeting the dogs, now a little brief bit about me.   I am a member of the Dalmatian Club of America and exhibit my dals in conformation. I'm a hobby aviculturist and amateur photographer.   I absolutely enjoy Dalmatians and am committed to enhancing my knowledge on all aspects of the breed.  I guess you could say my short term goal is to have a dog in a DCA specialty.  For more pictures of the Family please go to my Webshots page.
